Opportunistic urbanism
Opportunistic urbanism by Diego Ramírez-Lovering
Opportunistic urbanism is the result of an academic exchange undertaken in 2006 between the Architecture program at RMIT University and Escuela Superior de Arquitectura in Guadalajara, México. The book is the result of a process of urban interrogation, an attempt to make some sense of the city of Guadalajara and the activities that shape it. The research and ensuring documentation undertaken during the study tour were fragmentary and disjointed, only to be collated, categorised and expressed in final analytical drawings upon our return to Melbourne in 2007.
Opportunistic urbanism seeks to interrogate and document some of the spatial manifestations generated by conditions of informality in the city of Guadalajara, México.
